Bath and Body Works Fall Haul and Review!

Hello Everyone! Fall has finally arrived, which means it's time to start burning those favorite fall candles from Bath and Body Works. Over the past month, BBW has had several 2 for $22 sales on their 3 wick candles, so of course I had to do some shopping. I thought I would share my thoughts on the candles I've purchased.

As you can see, I've already started burning a majority of my candles and so far I'm really impressed with each of them. Here are the candles I purchased:

Leaves: Celebrate the brilliant colors of autumn with this rich blend of golden nectar, red apple and spiced berries

The Leaves candle is a must-have for me and many others every year when Fall comes around. Personally, I would burn this all year round if it was available because I love it so much. This candle has a sweet, rich scent that really just captures the essence of Fall. Just as I expected this candle burned perfectly! The wax pool pulled out evenly with in 20 minutes of lighting and the scent throw was very impressive. I could still smell this candle for hours long after I had extinguished it.

Pumpkin Pecan Waffles: Delight in the scrumptious scent of pumpkin pecan waffles, pure maple syrup and a touch of brown sugar.

When I first placed an order online with BBW, I decided to skip this candle because I was afraid I wouldn't like it. A few weeks later I took a trip to my local store and finally got to smell it in person. The cold throw didn't immediately pull me in but I decided to get it anyway and I'm SO glad I did. Pumpkin Pecan Waffles has become one of my new favorites for Fall! When burning, the scent reminds me of the Cinnamon Nut Bread candle from last year, which sadly didn't make the cut for this year. This candle is very sweet and you can definitely smell the pecans and brown sugar! The only thing I was slightly disappointed about was that I really didn't pick up on any pumpkin scent in this candle.

Sweater Weather- Cuddle up with an aromatic blend of eucalyptus, juniper berry and fresh sage that celebrates the arrival of sweater weather.

Sweater Weather has become another new favorite of mine this season! It is a very strong, refreshing, clean scent that just reminds me of the colder months. The notes of this candle are truly right on point and it has a fabulous burn and throw! Although I was burning this candle a lot in the first few weeks of September, I'm probably going to hold off on burning it until November. I feel like this candle is a great transition scent between Fall and Winter. If you haven't tried this one, I would highly recommend it.

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin: Celebrate Pumpkin season with this inviting mixture of harvest pumpkin, sweet vanilla cream and fall's rich spices.

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is another staple candle for the Fall season that is very well loved. Although this candle isn't one of my top favorites, I still had to get it. This candle has a sweet pumpkin scent with a great blend of different spices. The wax pool pulls out flawlessly, however I find that this candle doesn't have the strongest throw. If you're looking for a candle that really fills a large room with scent, this probably wouldn't be the best pick.

Apple Ale: Refresh yourself on a fall day with an effervescent blend of autumn apples, brown sugar and cinnamon bark.

I purchased this candle with my boyfriend in mind because he tends to like apple scents. Apple Ale reminds me of apple juice scent wise. I find that I like this candle a lot more when it's burning because the scent throw is amazing! The wax pool pulls out very quickly and the scent really lingers for hours. Overall, I really like this one.

Pumpkin Cupcake: Satisfy your sweet tooth with the scent of a freshly baked pumpkin cupcake covered in loads of rich buttercream frosting.

Pumpkin Cupcake is another staple candle that everyone seems to buy every Fall. It is very well loved and for a good reason. This candle is delicious bakery scent that combines a rich frosting scent with the spicy scent of pumpkin. This candle will always be one of my favorites! It has a great scent throw and the wax pool pulls out perfectly.

Autumn: a crisp fall fragrance that blends dark pomegranate and red delicious apple with notes of fir balsam and rich cedarwood

Autumn is a great candle for Fall if you love scents that are crisp, clean, and refreshing. I love this candle because it combines the smell of red apples with fir balsam which are two of my favorite scents. The wax pool on this candle pulls out flawlessly, however I don't feel that it has the strongest scent throw. Overall though I really enjoy this candle.

Pumpkin Carving: Invite everyone over to enjoy the fun fragrance of making jack-o-lanterns in this blend of pumpkin, brown sugar and nutmeg.

Pumpkin Carving is the only candle I haven't burned yet because I want to save it for October. To me this candle just captures Halloween perfectly and I want to make sure I can burn it that night. Although I haven't burned it yet, I know for a fact that this candle has a flawless performance. The simple ingredients in it, give a great scent that really encompasses that feeling of Fall.

Cider Lane:As sweet as the trip to the local apple orchard each year, a delicious fall blend of mulled cider, warm caramel and sweet cinnamon

I decided to pick up a couple scents in the small mason jar candles because they're just so darn cute! The first scent I got is Cider Lane. Even though I really love this scent, the large 3 wick candle can be too overwhelming. This candle is just so sweet smelling, it just makes me think of apple picking.

Marshmallow Fireside: Celebrate the changing season with a warm blend of toasted marshmallows, smoldering woods and creamy vanilla reminiscent of a cozy evening 'round the bonfire.

The second mason jar candle I picked up is in the scent Marshmallow Fireside. This candle has been a favorite of mine since I purchased it last year! I'll probably get a 3 wick of this candle once winter comes around. I just love this smell! Its the perfect blend of fireside and creamy vanilla.

These are all the candles I purchased for Fall! I was disappointed that Cinnamon Sugared Donut didn't come back this year. Which candles did you purchase this Fall? Which ones are your favorite?

June 2013 Ipsy My Glam Bag Review

This review is awfully late considering that the July my glam bags are already on their way. Better late than never though, right? This is my first glam bag from ipsy!

Seriously, how CUTE is this months bag?! Cheetah pring with a lime colored zipper. What's not to love?! Ipsy doesn't have an information card included inside like most other monthly subscription boxes. Instead they include a card that lists all the brands used in that months bag and the various discounts offered to ipsy subscribers. The theme for the June 2013 ipsy bag was "On the Wild Side".

My glam bag included:

~NYX Cosmetics Powder Blush (Silky Rose) ($5): I love this blush! Its a beautiful matte plummy pink shade that seems to be pretty pigmented. This was one of the first product sneak peeks for this month and I was really excited to finally try something from NYX Cosmetics. I think it will be a great color for the summer months but also a good transition for when it starts to get cooler out.

~Starlooks Lip Pencil (Bare) ($12): Ehhh.. I'm not thrilled by this product mainly because I don't  care for nude lip colors. They tend to make me look like a corpse. I was hoping for a pink or coral shade but maybe I can a use for this. The formula is great though, very creamy and smooth.

~J. Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette (Volta) ($4.49): I was excited for this palette until I found out it was body glitter and not eye shadow. I'm kind of confused as to why Ipsy chose to put this this item in our bags and no one really seems to know what to do with it. It looks like the palette would be creamy but its actually just chucky clumps of glitter. This really isn't something I see myself using but I guess the point of Ipsy is to try new things right?

~Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil (Beautiful Blonde) ($18): This is why I subscribed to Ipsy, to try products like this! You can use this product to highlight your brow bones, hide dark circles, and conceal blemishes. So far I'm loving this! It works great and really makes a difference for under eye circles.

~Cailyn Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner (Iron) ($21): I'm equally excited and intimidated about trying this product. I've never been good with gel eyeliner but this one includes a built in brush which is suppose to be pretty easy to use. The formula is really smooth and I love the color!

The total of my June ipsy Glam Bag came to $60.49 which is awesome considering the subscription only costs $10/month! Overall I was pretty pleased with this bag. Aside from the glitter palette and the lip pencil color, I think I'll get a lot of use out of all the products.

What did you get in this month's ipsy bag? What did you think of the products you got? If you're interested in becoming a glam bag subscriber or learning more information, click here! Hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Friday!

Boxycharm! A New Subscription Box!

Hello Everyone!! I'm excited to announce that I recently signed up for a new month subscription beauty box called Boxycharm. I came across this new subscription a few days ago and I just had to become a subscriber!

Boxycharm is very similar to other monthly subscriptions services like Birchbox or Ipsy, however it is guaranteed that you will receive 5 to 7 FULL SIZE items every month. This company strives to supply their subscribers with name-brand beauty essentials that will enhance their beauty collections and allow them to try some of the most popular beauty items. Some of the brands associated with Boxycharm include Covergirl, Essie, Mary-Kay, Revlon, Rimmel, Maybelline, Organix, and several others.

The reviews of this new subscription box have been somewhat mixed so far. I've found that some subscribers have complained that it features too many drugstore products, while others have been thrilled to finally get their hands on popular, well-known items. Personally, I LOVE the idea of a box that features mostly drug store products because that is generally what I purchase. Typically, I don't purchase high-end products because I just can't justify the cost. It would really depend on your personal beauty preferences if this box would be good for you.

The picture above shows the products featured in the May 2013 Boxycharm Box: Spring into Summer. It featured 7 full-sized products including; Essie nail polish, Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush, Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips, Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss, Maybelline Eye Studio Color Palette, Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick, Essence of Beauty Beauty Brush Set, and Styli-Style Eye Liner. Others may have received a few different items however, these were the most common that I came across in the reviews. The first 1,000 subscribers also received a Mary-Kay Beauty Bag as a free gift.

This subscription is available in three different subscription prices; $220 for an entire year, $60 for three months, or $21 per month. I opted for the $21 a month subscription because I want to try it out before paying for an entire year.

Currently, Boxycharm is working on a way of selecting certain products that will compliment each subscribers skin tone, style, and beauty interests. I'm thinking this will likely be similar to Ipsy's beauty quiz , for those of you that are familiar with Ipsy.  They are also developing a review section for their website that will allow subscribers to review the products they have received.

I should be receiving the June Boxycharm Box sometime next week and I'm very excited to see what's included for this month! If you would like to get more information on this new beauty subscription be sure to 'like' their facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/Boxycharm?fref=ts

If you are interested in becoming a Boxycharm subscriber yourself be sure to visit their website! There's currently no waiting list! :)

I can't wait to share my review of the June Boxycharm Box once I've received my box! Until then hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

The Something Blue VoxBox!!! My First Influenster Box!

After a long, dreary, rainy Friday I came home to find this little purple box sitting on my porch. This is Influenster's 2013 Something Blue Voxbox! I found out I was going to be receiving this box about a week and half ago after completing the survey for the Sunkissed Summer Voxbox. I was surpised it had come so quickly and I ran right inside to open it up and see what was inside!

How exciting is this?! This box came with so many great products that I'm really looking forward to trying out. It's amazing they were able to fit so many things in such a little box.

The first item I pulled out was the Luster Now! Instant Whitening Toothpaste. It's suppose to give you whiter teeth after just one use and features Bluverite Technology. It is also formulated for everyday use and is safe on enamel. I'm very excited to try this out! I will probably do a before and after once I've finished the entire bottle to see if it really does make a difference. This toothpaste comes in the flavor 'Happy Mint', how cute is that?!

The next item I grabbed was the Kiss Ever EZ Lashes, which came in style numbers 01 and 03. Set 01 of the lashes is much larger and fuller looking, while set 03 appears much more natural looking. I've honestly never tried false lashes before so I'm excited to give these a try. Hopefully they won't be too hard to apply. I'm really glad they sent us two different sets to try out! These lashes are natural, reusable, and also suitable for anyone who wears contact lens.

The next item included were these Dr. Scholls For Her Ball of Foot cushions. They are the only ball of foot product made with FabuSTEP gel, which you can definitely feel through the packaging. These cushions are designed specifically for women's shoes and help to prevent toe scrunching and feet from sliding forward in shoes. I can't wait to try these out! I'm on my feet for hours at a time throughout the day and my feet tend to get sore very easily. I'm so excited to give these a try!

These Q-tips Precision Tips were the next item included in the box and Influenster was kind enough to send us two travel sized packages of them to try. These are different from the usual Q-tips I've tried because they have a small pointed tip at each end which is suppose to be ideal for reaching small spaces. I could definitely see myself using these for makeup and manicure touch-ups!

This sample of the Urgent Rx Fast Powder was the next item in the box. The one I received is specifically made for relief from aches and pains, and comes in the flavor lemon-lime. It contains 650mg of Aspirin and 60mg of caffeine as well. All you have to do is pour this powder directly into your mouth and you're good to go! This product also comes in other forms to treat headaches, heartburn, allergy attacks, upset stomach, and critical care. If this product delivers the results it promises to, this is definitely something I could see myself using! Its the perfect size to keep in your purse for when you're on the go!

This pamphlet was the next item that came in the box. It is a booklet for My Trio Rings and includes pictures of many different engagement and wedding rings. It is probably something that I won't use, however one of my friends may like to use the discounts. The rings featured in the booklet are gorgeous!

Those were all the items featured in the 2013 Something Blue Voxbox! Overall I think they did a great job of including items that any bride to be would need on her wedding day! Although I personally won't be getting married this summer, I'm sure these items will come in handy for any wedding I attend. I'm really excited to try these out and I will be posting a review soon after I have tried them all! Hope you all have a great weekend!
